Figure 1
(A) The thyroid nodule of a 71-year-old female, shown as patient No. 2 in the Table 1. The nodule within the left lobe of the thyroid in transverse section was heterogeneously hypoechoic with striped hyper-echogenicity, an irregular margin, and a taller-than-wide shape (vertical). The arrow shows the striped hyper-echogenicity within the nodule; (B) Mixed blood flow signal was observed within the nodule in transverse section."
Figure 2
(A) The thyroid nodule of a 63-year-old female, shown as patient No. 6 in the Table 1. With a convex probe in the longitudinal section, the nodule was heterogeneously hypoechoic with an irregular margin and a wider-than-tall shape (horizontal). It was adjacent to the right lower lobe and extended to the substernal region. T shows the right lower lobe of the thyroid. The upward-pointing arrow shows the nodule was adjacent to the right lower lobe and could not be separated from the thyroid. It extended to the substernal region; (B) Mixed blood flow signals were observed within the nodule. The upward-pointing arrow shows the striped hyper-echogenicity within the nodule in the transverse section."
